At HSU, Canvas hosts BigBlueButton, which is fantastic for scheduling conferences that allow you to talk, video, group chat, and share information, such as a whiteboard. Another resource you may want to use with your university email is Google Hangouts.
The “Formula Question” feature in Canvas Quizzes allows you to create quizzes that give each student different sets of numbers to calculate, and automatically scores them according to your parameters. If you’re into that, here is a video showing you how.
